Sword Tribe
Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 30 June 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Sword Tribe website and your purchase of goods from us. Please read them carefully before placing an order. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. About us
Sword Tribe is a partnership of Gavin King and Jason Hulott, operating from Unit C, Swaines Industrial Estate, Rochford, Essex SS4 1RT. You can contact us at [email protected].
2. Eligibility and age restriction
Our products include bladed articles. It is an offence to sell these to anyone under the age of 18 in the United Kingdom. By placing an order you confirm that you are aged 18 or over, and that any person receiving the order is also aged 18 or over.
We are required to take reasonable steps to prevent the sale and delivery of bladed articles to under-18s. We use age confirmation at checkout and tracked or signed-for delivery, and an adult signature may be required on delivery. We may refuse or cancel any order where we are not satisfied that the age requirement is met. Where we cancel an order for this reason, you will receive a full refund.
3. Pre-orders
Our products are currently sold on a pre-order basis. Stock is shipped to us in batches and your order is fulfilled once the relevant batch arrives with us in the UK. Please allow up to 6 weeks (approximately 42 days) from the date of your order for delivery. By placing a pre-order you agree to this timeframe, which may be longer than the standard 30-day delivery period. Full details are set out in our Shipping and Delivery Policy.
4. Placing an order
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy goods from us. We will confirm receipt of your order by email, but this does not mean your order has been accepted. A binding contract is formed only when we confirm that your order has been accepted, or when we dispatch your goods, whichever is earlier. If we are unable to fulfil your order, we will let you know and refund any payment taken.
5. Fulfilment options
At checkout you choose how you would like to receive your order:
Delivery: once your order arrives with us, we will email you an invoice for shipping, which you pay before we dispatch your order.
Free collection from Rochford Martial Arts Academy.
Free collection from Canterbury Medieval Combat.
We will email you as soon as your order is ready, to confirm the next step based on the option you selected.
6. Pricing and payment
The price of goods is shown on the product page at the time you order. We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct, but if we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will contact you before dispatch to ask whether you wish to continue at the correct price or cancel.
We are not currently registered for VAT, and no VAT is charged on your order. If we become registered for VAT in future, our displayed prices will be inclusive of VAT.
Payment for goods is taken at checkout and is processed securely by Stripe. Shipping, where applicable, is invoiced and paid separately once your order is ready to dispatch, as described in section 5.
7. Your right to cancel and return
You may cancel a pre-order at any time before dispatch for a full refund. As a consumer, you also have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Full details of how to cancel, return goods and obtain a refund, including the condition of returned goods and who pays return postage, are set out in our Returns and Refunds Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Faulty goods
If your goods are faulty, damaged, or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Please contact us at [email protected].
Our Returns and Refunds Policy explains how this works and the remedies available to you.
9. Use of products and safety
Our products are intended for use in training, practice and martial arts contexts by people who understand how to handle them safely. You are responsible for using them lawfully, safely, and in a suitable environment. We are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from misuse, careless handling, or use of our products in a way they were not intended for. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under law.
10. Lawful ownership and carry
It is your responsibility to ensure that owning, carrying and using our products is lawful where you are. UK law restricts the carrying of bladed articles in public without good reason. By ordering you confirm that you will comply with all applicable laws relating to the possession and use of the products.
11. Your information
We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By placing an order you confirm you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
12. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from events outside our reasonable control, including manufacturing delays, shipping or customs delays, or supply interruptions. Where such an event affects your order, we will contact you and, where appropriate, offer you the option to cancel for a refund.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are those in force at the time you place it. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
15. Contact us
